Antique Oak Buffet with Mirror

This was a custom order for Karen. She wanted her oak buffet painted in a satin black with hardware polished to a silver. Here below is the before.

It didn’t need much repair. The repair we did do was the inner drawers. They had a gap in the back. We sanded it all down. Oak buffets are fairly simple to sand down as long as there isn’t a heavy sealer on top.

The black used was General Finishes Lamp Black. Then added a few coats of a satin sealer.

Hardware was scrubbed down to a beautiful silver.

We polished the inner cabinets and drawers with Wise Owl furniture salve.

It was beautiful before, but painted black looks so elegant.

Karen loved it and that always makes me so happy!
